Please note that over the summer, Saturday nights can only be booked as part of a two night stay, so please book well in advance as we are a popular choice for the area. Our private function room is ideal for boardroom-style business meetings of up to 25 people; theatre-style seating for up to 50; formal sit-down meals for up to 36 and standing receptions for up to 100 people. It also has its own private bar, high definition projector and screen, sound system and mood lighting. We also have a more intimate boardroom table facility available at The White Lion, in the form of a private room for up to six people. The pub remains the heart and soul of the White Lion Hotel and food is our speciality. The exceptional environment, combined with a fantastic menu, excellent fresh food offer and superb drinks selection means you won’t be disappointed. Diners and drinkers alike can also enjoy one of our many real ales or wines selected from around the world. The town of Tenterden itself has been described as ‘the Jewel of the Weald’, with wide tree lined streets, historic buildings and a host of specialist shops. Out and about there are picture postcard villages to explore, manor houses and gardens, and of course, Leeds Castle, set in 500 acres of parkland. Hotel accommodation includes our fantastic free breakfast.

Tenterden is an unspoilt town in the heart of Kent. The town has escaped major development so retains a lot of character and sits in a charming part of the country. A short walk will take you to the Kent and East Sussex steam railway, offering tranquil journeys to unspoilt countryside, the Tenterden vineyard and the town museum. More active guests can enjoy the Golf Club or trout fishing. Read more

The Eurostar terminal at Ashford is only 10 miles away making the White Lion an ideal stopover for an early morning train or base for a day trip to Paris. Ashford is a large town with a continental feel. It has a number of street cafes and interesting shops as well as the designer outlet on the outskirts of the town which will satisfy even the most intrepid bargain hunter. For walking and cycling, Romney Marsh offers opportunities for exploration and the villages of the Weald make for a picturesque journey. Further afield in Kent, the magnificent Hever and Dover castles will form a truly historic day out.
