Beverley is a classic Yorkshire market town, with the dramatic 13th Century Beverley Minster and narrow cobbled streets filled with antique and craft shops. The town centre is a destination in itself, but if you are looking to explore the county it also serves as a fantastic base for visiting the cities of Hull and York, as well as the attractive seaside towns of Bridlington and Scarborough. A short journey will take you into the Yorkshire Wolds, with miles of walks and cycle rides through unspoilt countryside and remote villages and with stunning views across the county. Throughout the year, Beverley comes alive with visitors for its many music and arts festivals, including the folk festival, literature festival and Christmas festival. The nearby Beverley Racecourse hosts several meetings a year with the opportunity to have a glass of Champagne and a flutter at the sport of kings. In the near vicinity are stately homes, gardens and castles including Ripley Castle and the not too distant Clifford’s Tower in York – all ripe for exploring. Or, if you’re feeling a bit more lively, you can also enjoy the leisure centre in the town. Hull offers a range of cultural sites, including various museums and galleries and the fantastic Dinostar Museum – Hull’s very own Dinosaur experience.
